Each tier specifies exactly which tool for each function, why that tool over the alternatives, what it can’t do, and the GDPR data residency status.

All prices are current as of Q2 2026 and are for monthly billing. Annual billing typically saves 15–20%.


Before You Choose a Tier: The Three Questions

1. How many contacts do you have? Under 500: Free tier works. 500–5,000: Starter. 5,000+: Growth.

2. Do your workflows process personal contact data? If yes, EU data residency required for GDPR compliance — this eliminates some tools at each tier.

3. Do you have IT support? Self-hosted options (n8n) are cheapest but require technical setup. If no IT support: use SaaS options only.

What this tier can’t do:

The Brevo Business tier specifically. At €49/month, Brevo Business adds: unlimited contacts, advanced automation, landing pages, A/B testing on email campaigns, basic CRM with deals. For a 2–3 person marketing team in German B2B, this covers 80–85% of email automation needs.

The Sistrix decision. Sistrix at €100/month is the biggest single cost in Tier 2. The alternative is using Semrush Free tier (~€0) or Google Search Console alone for SEO. If your content strategy is data-driven (choosing topics based on actual DACH search volume), Sistrix is worth it. If content strategy is primarily CRM/sales-insight-driven, you can defer this.

When Tier 3 is right. This tier is appropriate when: monthly marketing budget (including ad spend) exceeds €5,000, the team has 3+ people in marketing, and automation velocity (number of new workflows per quarter) is increasing. At lower scales, Tier 2 is more efficient.


Implementation Order

Regardless of tier, implement in this sequence to avoid rework:

Week 1–2: Consent infrastructure (CMP + Consent Mode v2) and CRM data audit. This is not the exciting part; it’s the part that makes everything else work.

Week 3–4: Email tool setup with double opt-in configuration. Import only consented contacts. Do NOT import full contact database before consent audit is complete.

Week 5–6: First automation workflow. Simple: new form submission → CRM contact creation → internal notification. Test with real data before moving to multi-step workflows.

Month 2: Add SEO tool. Start keyword research for first 3 content pieces. Set up GA4 with scroll depth events.

Month 3: First three content pieces published with full SEO configuration. Distribution workflow active.
